Escape from New York 1981
Manhattan is a prison now, and the President is inside.
In a dystopian 1997, a soldier-turned-bank robber is tasked with rescuing the U.S. President after he crashes into Manhattan, which has been turned into a giant maximum security prison.
Once a daring soldier, Snake Plissken now lives as a convict, but a last-chance deal sends him into the walled-off ruins of New York City. Hidden among its lawless inmates is the nation's leader, stranded after a crash, and Snake has a few hours to find him before the island's guards and gangs close in.
