Anxious about his future after high school, a 19-year-old Italian-American from Brooklyn tries to escape the harsh reality of his bleak family life by dominating the dance floor at the local disco.
In 1970s Brooklyn, a young paint-store clerk finds his only real freedom on the dance floor of the 2001 Odyssey disco, where he's a legend among his friends. But with his future looming and a home life that offers little comfort, he begins to wonder whether the spotlight can carry him anywhere beyond the weekend.
