2001: A Space Odyssey 1968
Some mysteries are older than the stars themselves.
When a mysterious artifact is uncovered on the Moon, a spacecraft manned by two scientists and one supercomputer is dispatched to Jupiter to find its origins.
When investigators unearth a strange relic buried on the lunar surface, they learn it was left there long ago and is sending a signal into deep space. A small crew and an advanced onboard computer set out toward the giant gas planet to uncover the object's purpose, but the machine aboard begins acting in unsettling ways. Kubrick's sweeping vision asks what it means to be human when the unknown waits just beyond the next horizon.
