Taxi Driver 1976

A mentally unstable veteran works as a nighttime taxi driver in New York City, where the perceived decadence and sleaze fuels his urge for violent action.

Back from the war and unable to sleep, a restless ex-Marine takes the wheel of a cab and prowls New York's neon-soaked streets after dark. Each fare exposes him to the city's grime, its hustlers, and its political hopefuls, and his loneliness hardens into a simmering rage. As he struggles to build a private code of right and wrong, the cab becomes the only place where his thoughts feel contained.
